Checklist/Timeline for Applying to College

JUNIORS

  • Research colleges according to your interests using BigFuture
  • Attend a college fair (GHS college fair is in the Fall each year)
  • Register for College Rep visits through the Calendly link. College visits will be announced in your Junior Guidance Google Classroom
  • Go on campus visits
  • Narrow your college choices
  • Take the ACT

SENIORS

  • Schedule a Senior meeting with your counselor. This should be completed in late August/Early September.
  • Research colleges on BigFuture according to your interests using the Preference Search and talking with your counselor.
  • Register for College Rep visits through Calendly. Each week, college rep visits will be announced through the Senior Guidance Google Classroom 
  • Complete college applications
  • Apply for scholarships. Check the scholarship page for more information.
  • Complete the FAFSA. See the Financial Aid page for more information.
