What is the FAFSA?

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is an application that determines a student's eligibility to receive federal aid. 

Many states and colleges may use your FAFSA information to help determine eligibility for their aid.

**Some states, colleges or private sources may have deadlines for filling out the FAFSA so we recommend everybody to fill it out as soon after December as possible**

The FAFSA application is fairly easy and straightforward as long as you have all of the documentation necessary. Please see steps below to help you along the way. Never pay anybody to help you complete the FAFSA.

Step 1: Create a FSA ID (for student and parent/guardian)

Step 2: Complete the FAFSA

Step 3: Receive a SAR (Student Aid Report) which gives you your EFC (Estimated Family Contribution)
