
On April 5, 2013 it was announced that Gretna High School received a
$70,321.00 grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust for the
“Courtyard and Garden: An Educational Immersion” project. The Nebraska
Legislature created the Nebraska Environmental Trust in 1992. Using
revenue from the Nebraska Lottery, the Trust has provided over $195
million in grants to over 1,500 projects across the state. The Nebraska
Environmental Trust works to preserve, protect and restore our natural
resources for future generations.
Other supporters of the
Gretna Outdoor Classroom are Nebraska Alliance for Conservation and
Environment Education (NACEE), $3,000.00; Papio Natural Resources
District (P-NRD) $1000. 00; and the Gretna High School Science Club.
